Will Tanalorr be the ultimate haven for the Hidden Path?

Mantis approach tanalorr planet in star wars jedi survivor hidden path

Cal Kestis’ discovery of Tanalorr, the hidden planet in the Koboh Abyss, during Jedi Survivor now gives Respawn’s and Lucasfilm’s writers interesting opportunities. Will Tanalorr be used as an ultimate safe haven for Jedi and force sensitives following the Hidden Path in upcoming Star Wars content?

The long-awaited sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order has finally been released and it had tons of intriguing elements, including a look at some of the High Republic tech and characters, Dagan Gera and Zee, that had survived centuries before being reintroduced to the world without a Jedi order.

We learned a lot about Dagan Gera and his conflict with Santari Khri and the Jedi council during the High Republic. It was revealed he had ambitions for creating a Jedi temple on a hidden planet, Tanalorr, which could be out of reach of almost any potential galactic conquest, such as Palpatine’s empire.

The Hidden Path leads to Tanalorr?

Much of Jedi Survivors story focused on the idea of such a planet and there is a major conflict between many of the characters on what this planet should ultimately be used for. The core cast of Cal Kestis, Merrin, and Cere all realized that it would be a great place to rebuild the Jedi order in secret, so that, one day, they may overthrow Palpatine and the Empire.

To see this idea through they would need to connect Tanalorr to the Hidden Path, which was first made prominent in canon during the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The Kenobi series and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also takes place in the same year, 9 BBY. In the Disney Plus show, we learned that many of the rebels have been working in the shadows to escort potential Jedi and force-sensitive children between worlds, away from the likes of Inquisitors and Darth Vader.

The Hidden Path was put together by these rebels along with help from Jedi survivors of Order 66, Obi-Wan Kenobi was seen briefly helping them escape from Vader but there is also mention of others, such as Quinlan Vos, who are suggested to be much more involved in the process. However, there was never any mention of where they all ended up, and perhaps, Tanalorr could now ultimately be the planet they settle on.

Will Tanalorr appear in future Star Wars?

The clever concept of this hidden world, that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor introduced, will be extremely interesting to see play out in future projects. We can obviously suspect that it will return in the next Star Wars Jedi game but what about the other upcoming movies and TV shows?

The planet of Tanalorr being out of reach of the Empire could be a great vehicle that the writers can use for keeping much of the Jedi knowledge and tradition alive as we move forward in the post-sequel movies content. Copies of the ancient texts and holodisks could be stored here,

Tanalorr could also be used as a staging ground for the new Jedi order that Rey will plan on building. Another potential idea is that, when she arrives there, it could be revealed that a much older Cal Kestis has already set her and Luke’s plan in motion, making it much easier to return the Order to its former glory in a shorter time span.

As to whether or not we will see it, it is hard to tell, but at this point, it would seem like a major oversight not to consider using this planet’s great potential at a later point. There is plenty to speculate about Tanalorr but this hidden planet’s location may be one of the most intriguing revelations to come out of Jedi Survivor.
