The fan-favorite Jedi character Ahsoka Tano is returning in a brand new series titled ‘Ahsoka’ on Disney Plus, which will be helmed by Dave Filoni. Many are expecting the iconic World Between Worlds to return, which could open up possibilities for major changes in the Star Wars timeline. But what exactly could these changes look like?

The idea of time travel and alternate timelines is one that many viewers will be familiar with from other tv series and franchises, particularly those that stemmed from Superhero comics like Marvel and DC’s universes. But, despite how magical the world of Star Wars can be, we have yet to see too much tampering with events of the past.

That could all change, however, with the World Between Worlds now expected to play a major role in Ahsoka’s journey to find Ezra Bridger and battle Grand Admiral Thrawn, in an attempt to finally rid the galaxy of the Imperial Remnant.

What is the World Between Worlds?

The World between Worlds, which is also known as the Vergence Scatter, was first introduced on-screen in the animated Star Wars Rebels series for Disney XD. It is a mystical plane with a series of doors and potential pathways between time and space that can be accessed by anyone who can enter. It is also known for its connection to the Mortis Gods, and the entrance was found at a painting of these galactic deities in S

Anyone inside the World Between Worlds can see all of the events that have happened or potentially can happen, as well as what is happening currently. This unique place between time and space is quite hard to reach however, as we learned that it was locked with the key we saw Ezra Bridger discover, and use it to save Ahsoka from Darth Vader.

As of now, it has not been confirmed if the World Between Worlds can also view alternate timelines, to see what the galaxy would look like if certain events were changed. As Ezra’s time there was interrupted by Darth Sidious also attempting to gain access, there is still much we have yet to learn about the mysterious plane.

Could Ahsoka go back in time?

Knowing that Ahsoka will re-visit the World Between Worlds after all these years, following the events of Rebels, the question now becomes what will she use this all-powerful tool for? We know that Hayden Christiansen was cast and confirmed to play a role in the upcoming series, could changing her master’s fate be a major concern for her?

We do not yet know if Ahsoka could go back in time to visit a younger Anakin Skywalker before his turn to the dark side or if we will see an alternate timeline where he never turned evil. But the most popular theory, that many fans suspect is that his appearances will only be in Force visions or flashbacks much like we saw in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.

It is also possible that her potential use of the World Between Worlds is to go back in time or look throughout the universe to figure out where Ezra Bridger and Thrawn ended up. Both of these characters are expected to play crucial roles in the new Ahsoka series, but when and how they will come into the picture is still up in the air.
