Star Wars fans make Boba Fett trend after Mandalorian drama

The mandalorian season 3 left boba fett actor temeura morrison trending

Temuera Morrison made headlines after revealing his frustrations with Disney’s decisions with Boba Fett’s character in recent series. Star Wars fans questioning Jon Favreau and the Mandalorian writers’ decisions to exclude him in Season 3 have even started trending online.

After Temuera Morrison made a panel appearance at SUPANOVA Comic Con & Gaming convention in Australia, he was asked some questions about the reception of his character, Boba Fett. The former bounty hunter has appeared both in The Mandalorian as well as his own spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett on Disney Plus.

It seems as if the New Zealand actor has not been overly pleased with the direction Boba Fett has been going and he openly questioned the writers over him potentially being sidelined or not used correctly in the latest Star Wars content.

What did Temuera say about Boba Fett?

Temuera was clearly frustrated by the lack of Boba’s appearance in The Mandalorian Season 3, revealing that he was actually supposed to be included in the story at one point. Many fans had actually theorized his arrival in Chapter 24 of The Mandalorian, thinking he would be part of the battle to retake the heroes’ home planet from Moff Gideon and the Empire.

“I was supposed to be in The Mandalorian season 3 but nobody rang me.” he explained, revealing how disheartened he had become by this apparent oversight from Favreau and Lucasfilm, “I was waiting for the phone call in New Zealand, waiting and wanting to give up.”

“Well, that Mando guy stole a few chapters of my book” Temuera added, revealing that Din Djarin’s arc might have interfered with the storytelling of Boba Fett, “I’m sure this guy is ruining my show. But I couldn’t say anything. I’m not the writer, so I have to bear it I guess.”

Many criticisms of The Mandalorian Season 3 echoed that the overarching narrative seemed to meander and that something felt missing from the season. There was a lack of payoff for many of the plotlines that were introduced this season, such as the Mythosaur, and there wasn’t enough done with Moff Gideon’s force sensitive clones in the end.

Bring Back Boba Fett trends

The actor’s sentiment seems to have been shared by many Star Wars fans as well. In reaction to the latest news, many of them began to protest, calling for Boba Fett to be returned to his former glory and to be treated as any legacy character should, with the proper care for his story and accuracy in developing him further with a second season.

The large response from the Star Wars community caused the hashtag “Bring Back Boba Fett” to trend on Twitter. There were also plenty of large content creators who voiced their concerns, calling on Disney to redeem some of the decisions they made in the likes of the Book of Boba Fett.

The majority of the audience, such as Star Wars Underworld, called for more of Boba Fett’s character to be explored in a second season of his spinoff show. Without such a focus on characters like Luke Skywalker, Grogu, and Din Djarin, despite how good the episodes were individually, it would allow for Boba Fett to shine more.

TheFirstOkiro was another to add to the appeal of Temuera Morrison returning as Boba Fett, highlighting that he has been a core element in Star Wars “since the prequels” and that he has had a major impact as the face and voice of the Clones for all these years.

“He’s the heart and soul of the Fetts and why we even have Clones,” Okiro explained.

Popular YouTuber StarWarsTheory was among the many spurring on the response and hashtag, later adding that he was frustrated with how many of the iconic characters like Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi were “sidelined” in their Disney Plus spinoffs.

Will Book of Boba Fett return for Season 2?

While airing out grievances in public is typically not the best approach for actors who are concerned about a character. In this case, it may be different, with the large amount of rallying support Temuera Morrison has received, there may be hope of adding to his iconic character’s legacy moving forward.

Whether or not Disney will look to include him in any future projects remains to be seen. However, with Star Wars fans clearly highlighting a want for his return, it would make sense for the Lucasfilm execs to at least consider bringing Boba Fett back for a second season.
