The Witcher Season 3 is soon to be released with more chapters of fan-favorite characters Geralt and Ciri’s journey across The Continent. Netflix’s hit show has already introduced a variety of complex characters but who else, from the video games and books, can we expect to see in the third season?

Each season of Netflix’s The Witcher has delighted fans of the franchise by introducing beloved characters from the games and book series. However, there are still numerous characters, especially from the widely popular Witcher 3 game that has gained a large casual audience, which have yet to make an appearance.

Netflix’s The Witcher Season 3 will be largely based on the second novel in The Witcher Saga, Time of Contempt, according to the show’s screenwriter and creator, Lauren Hissrich, during her interview with TechRadar. But it may also include elements from the other books originally written by Andrzej Sapkowski, that have yet to be included.

Who is new in the Witcher Season 3 cast?

New Elves and Scoia’tael characters

If the third season of the Netflix show is to go over any of the storylines yet to be told from the Blood of Elves novel, it is expected that we will be introduced to a few new Elven characters as well. Here are a few that we might see in the first part of Netlix’s upcoming Witcher installment.

From the casting from the third season we already have confirmation of a few new faces that will arrive on June 29. With the battle between the Elves and the Northern Realms starting to heat up, much of the focus will be on many of the biggest personalities from each side. It is also worth mentioning that Dryads are expected to return, which will surely add some extra characters.

Robbie Amell as Gallatin is one of the most notable Elven members confirmed and will seemingly act as Isengrim Faoiltiarna from the novels. Known as the Iron Wolf, this Scoia’tael leader will be a key player in Thanedd Island and the Battle of Brenna, one of the most famous battles between the Nilfgaard Empire and the Northern Realms.

Another exciting character from ‘Geralt’s Hanza’ or company is expected to arrive in Season 3, Milva, who will be played by Meng’er Zhang. Alongside Cahir, Regis, Dandelion, and Angoulême, Milva and this rag-tag group of companions is expected to join together and follow Geralt’s leadership during the second Nilfgaard-Nordling war.

Geralt’s love interests and mages

Other than Milva, there are some new allies that Geralt may be introduced to in Season 3 of the Netflix series. One of the most recognizable is Shani, who was also involved in the Battle of Brenna as a Medic, during the novel series. Many will know Shani from working alongside her in the Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone story expansion, but how similar or different she might be in the show remains unclear as of now.

Keira Metz is another major character that has seemingly been cast ahead of the new season, with rumors of Safiyya Ingar being chosen for the role. Much like Shani, Metz was another potential love interest and ally for Geralt in the Witcher 3 game, but as the events of the Second War happen much earlier than the game, we are unlikely to see much between the two on-screen.

Season 3 is expected to focus heavily on the mages on Thanedd Island and how the Sorceresses of the Lodge came to be, so the likes of Metz, Triss Merigold, Sabrina Glessvig, Francesca Findabair and Phillipa Eilhart should be joined by Margarita Laux-Antille, who is expected to be played by Rochelle Rose, as well as Sheala de Tancarville and Assire var Anahid.

Prince Radovid and other royals

With increasing tensions surrounding the warring kingdoms, the next season should also feature a look at the political games being played by the royals and the leaders of each of the factions we will see in the upcoming battles.

Radovid is one of the most recognizable names on the Redanian front and it seems as if he will finally be introduced as a prince in the next season. But, unlike the books and games, in the Netflix show he will be featured as Vizimir’s younger brother, rather than the king’s only son.

Other royal members and their allies that have been rumored are as follows: Tracy-Ann Oberman is expected to portray Queen Hedwig, Johannes Haukur Johannesson take over as Crach an Craite and additionally, Falka, who should fit into her own category, is expected to return from Witcher: Blood Origin for a brief scene with Ciri.

Of course, with all of these character predicitions it is important to remember that the Netflix series has proven to stray from much of the source material making it difficult to predict everything that will arrive in Season 3 but as of now, these are the characters we can expect to see. We will update this post once any changes are confirmed.
